WELCOME HOME
In his letter to the Ephesians, Paul writes these words: "That [God] may grant you to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith..." (Ephesians 3:16-17). Or, as another has translated, "That Christ may settle down and be at home in your hearts by faith..." (Weymouth).
Without question, one of the most remarkable Christian doctrines is that Jesus Christ himself, through the Holy Spirit, will actually enter a heart, settle down and be at home there. Christ will live in any human heart that welcomes Him (My Heart - Christ's Home written by Robert Boyd Munger).
Church is not the answer to all life's problems, but it's a start. If you're new to the area, just visiting, looking for a change, or not currently attending church, we invite you to come worship, study and fellowship with us. We are a dynamic, spiritual family of believers empowered by the Holy Spirit and we're glad to welcome you home!
| January 26 Pastor's Note: My sermon next Sunday is entitled "God with us." The scripture is Micah 1:3-4; Micah 3:12 and Matthew 28:30. It is a different take on the comforting thought that "God is with us." Hope it is thought provoking...maybe making us think is the best that a sermon can do. What do you think? What makes a good sermon? |
