 In Memory...

On October 27, 2006, the families of Billy J. Lyons and Laymon & Shirley Kiser planted trees in loving memory of their lives.  The trees were planted at the Wetlands Estonoa Learning Center and the representatives of this native Appalachian species are located along the shores of Estonoa.  Attending the event were Terry Vencil, Tripper Hilton, Dana Lyons, Butch Kiser, Rev. Mike Moore, Roy Hilton, Arlie Mae Hilton and Dean Vencil.  The families want to thank Zack Hicks and Christopher Vance for planting the trees.

Wood Carving

Rev. Mike Moore Style

St. Paul High School students are experiencing a new type of art this semester by doing wood carving.  Pictured are the guest speaker and amateur wood carver Rev. Mike Moore, with Kara Holbrook and Ashley Boardwine.  Each of the students are carving a mouse shelf hanger and learning the fundamentals of wood carving.  These students are currently in 2nd and 3rd semester art in Katie Jessee's Visual Arts class.
